Either option is simply awful to consider in a man who is our President.
I have read many articles in the past about the narcissistic personality, which this President obviously is, and how when challenged they tend to lash out suddenly, and I see more of that now in the way Obama is reacting to what is likely bad news from his inner circle about his chances for re election.
Some have even predicted that the Narcissist in Chief will have a public breakdown at some point, when the stress gets great enough.
That statement about the Supreme Court, in my opinion, was pretty close to one.
The complete lack of rationality about the situation he displayed was beyond defense, in spite of the efforts of his stunned supporters to explain it away (this is you, Larry Tribe!).
The closer we get to the election, the better chance we have of witnessing a total public decompensation, and while in one way it won't be good for the country in the short run to witness such a show from their President, in the long run perhaps a disaster like that might sober up the electorate enough that we can avoid the election of such unqualified politicians in the future. Silver lining/dark cloud, and all that. I'm an optimist, I guess.
It was bad enough that obama attempted to intimidate the Supreme Court, but to do it front of two other world leaders was inexcusable. Airing our dirty laundry in public is never good. The guy has no couth. It's all about him. When he doesn't get his way he is like a spoiled child, lashing out.
ReplyDeleteWhile it will be bad when he has his breakdown, it will sure be funny at the same time. Remember when howard dean freaked out. His career has never recovered from that. Sometimes I pull up that video of dean and laugh and laugh...
Good point about Dean. Obama's ultimate freak out will probably be far more disturbing, in that he has real power, and there will be an immediate crisis of confidence in the government itself. Whatever. As long as he and his party are gone from power in November, it's fine with me.
