Back when Obama was running for president, I heard a lot of positive comment on his promise to "reach across the aisle," and to tone down the partisanship. Nobody I heard this from could offer an explanation as to how this amazing thing was going to be accomplished by literally the most
liberal member of congress with
the most radical associations of any serious candidate since
Eugene Debs, if he was elected president.
That didn't matter because everyone just liked him so much.
Hope and change just got flushed.
