And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My time was the summer of '71. I think the plain burgers were 19cents and cheese burgers 29 c. I vaguely remember "big Mac, fries and a coke for $1" being a TV ad.
I'm pretty sure this is the Des Plaines Illinois McDonald's, McDonald's kept it as a museum/show case until it was torn down several years ago because of flooding in the area. (I felt this was B.S.) 55+ years ago I used to cut class at Maine East H.S. in Park Ridge and we would go to this McDonald's. Every time I see that photo it's like a Time Machine....
