And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Out west they were colloquially referred to MAVs (LDS - Mormon Assault Vehicles) because they were so popular with large families common in the church. It is easy to forget that there were not a lot of other full-size SUVs with seats in that era. Our school (and church) parking lots were full of them well into the 1970s; although not jacked up or this purty.
I had a '64, blue with a white top. It had three Alcan highway and five Meskin Departmento de Turismo stickers on the windshield and a 292 straight six that was geared quite low and it took a pretty good hill before you had to downshift to 3rd. The downside was, about 12 miles per gallon, but there's a drawback to every system. I've been kicking my own azz for 40 years for letting it get away from me.
I'd do a short commute it that, if I could afford the gas.
