  1. Nice. Very correct looking hot rod. 427 side oiler on a stick maybe? Be my first choice, all round Brembo's, Crown Vick front suspension unit, super duty limited slip. Yeah brother!

    2. To rechrome bumpers today prolly cost as much as the car!

I rather like the painted chrome on this ride. Looks more menacing than chrome.

  3. When queried about possibilities for my first car, Daddy told me we would get me whatever kinda car I could afford and after saving and conniving the cash it was gonna be a '65 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible (red, black top, buckets, console, floor shifter, factory styled wheels, a 352 and the ultimate advantage, I had the money!) and that was when Daddy give me the second piece of the puzzle: Whatever kinda car I could afford as long as it didn't have too big an engine and haul too many hoodlum kids, and to keep looking. I think about that car today and still grind my teeth in frustration.

    1. Don't be too hard on yourself - you wouldn't still have that car today. Dad had a '66 Galaxie 500, later I had a '72 Galaxie 500 and my brother had a '74. One brother had a '69 Torino. Another had a '72 Gran Torino and finally my younger bro had a '83 Thunderbird. We had a mechanic uncle who loved Fords and found all our cars for us. My neighbor now has a shop and he hates Fords. He says Ford found the problem and they circled it on the hood. I have an '02 F250, which I love.

  4. I miss my 1969 LTD. That 390 was a wonderful engine.

    1. That is a '67. I had one, my first car, bought in '73. I was broke, paid $425 for it. If I had another $50 or so, I probably could have afforded a car with reverse.

  7. 1967 was a great year for car design. This one, Impala, Cougar, various Mopar products, various Pontiacs...
