And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Beeswax and boiled linseed oil - that's exactly what I mix up to make boot wax. I made a big batch a few years ago and now I have a lifetime supply. And it sure cost less than $25 for 8 oz!
I've been using it for 30 years now. It is different from the BLO in the stores, which isn't actually catalyzed but contains toxic chemicals that oxidize it in air to dry. In this mix the linseed oil is actually heated to the point of catalyzation and then mixed with the wax. This makes it genuinely food-safe and also gives a better finish texture. I use it on chairs, and case goods, and any interior piece that doesn't require a waterproof film finish. For those I use Waterlox.
