And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The first photo is Germany, of the beautiful Bastei area along the Elbe River as it winds through the Saxony Alps. It is a wonderful area to visit. Between Dresden and Prague.
Colorado passed a law allowing motorized two wheelers the ability to "sandwich" between stopped automobiles... it's called lane filtering. It is really stupid because the motorcycle riders speed up and take way too many really bad chances.
Thank you, I really like these Friday "Open Road" photos.
ReplyDeleteDibs on the truck in #3 but only if the dawg comes with it.
ReplyDeleteWhere is that Volcanic Valley with the stream running thru it?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess that it might be the mid-Atlantic spreading ridge and somewhere in Iceland. Steve_in_Ottawa
DeleteIt's good to see a VW bus on your Friday masterpiece!

Deletemy favorite is 10, where the chopper has acquired and locked on to (hopefully) the biker in 2.
DeleteDogs are well-represented. NICE.
ReplyDeletePicture 21 looks like a few back roads in the Cascades I've been hiking on. Excellent compilation, thank you.
