And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Rolls-Royce Dart engines were used on the Vickers Viscount, Hawker-Siddeley 748 and the Fokker F27 Friendship. A great engine that's still flying almost 80 years after the first prototype ran. I have vivid memories of the RPM hitting 15,000 and the water-methanol boost kicking in. Al_in_Ottawa
I remember hearing the TCA Viscounts flying out of Uplands in Ottawa in the '60s. They had a very distinctive sound that I did not hear again until many years later when I flew in a 748 into La Ronge, Sask. Someone was also flying the F27 out of Uranium City....might have been Norcan Air. Again, that very distinctive sound. Steve_in_Ottawa
Used to fly over our heads when landing at Turnhouse.
