And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Nice vintage Maxim silencer. They worked very well, grandad had one on an original 92 lever action, in 38-40, the rifle was quiet, we could hear the bullet sonic crack bounce off trees as it flew past. Interesting no one seems to have made modern versions of his designs, (maybe somebody has?).
In case you're wondering, that's a Smith & Wesson Model 27 Lee's holding there. https://www.imfdb.org/wiki/The_Killers_(1964)#Smith_.26_Wesson_Model_27
Welp, then that silencer was as effective as tits on a boar. As a general rule you can’t silence a revolver. The gap between caliber and barrel makes it impossible to silence. A very few guns have been made to address this, but that S and W isn’t one of them.
The correct terminology is 'cylinder to barrel gap', not 'the gap between caliber and barrel'. Then there's the fact that it was just a movie from 60 years ago. How ballistically accurate do you really expect it to be?
BTW, the correct terminology is 'suppressor', not 'silencer'.
Lee was legit tough guy...

"Worked"?
Not so much.
That guy played some great parts, particularly liked him in The Dirty Dozen.
