And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I drove one for twenty years and never got stuck in snow or mud and they're easy to work on. Avoid models made after they started putting computers in them.
At the end of World War II according to my father there were acres of Jeeps on sale in India or Malaya (I don't remember which) to military personnel for the then equivalent of about $150 each. He didn't need one, so he didn't buy one.

ReplyDeleteModel-T Ford and some Model-A's ably performed double duty as mobile sawmills and arm tractors. Ford vehicles were also the original camping RV.
