And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

When Musk Builds Flying Cars, This Is The One I Want
That was a jab at dodge. I had a ‘72 dart with the 318. Loved the car, except you’d forget about the hesitation at the wrong time. Seems the throttle plates would open too quickly if you stomped it too hard. The manifold would loose all vacuum. Causing the engine to damn-near stall out for a second. Then the engine would kick in and launch you hard. But before it did, you were convinced it was going to leave you in the path of something many times your size! Almost had a couple heart attacks trying to beat trains and semi’s at crossings.
My dad had a 72 Dodge Dart Swinger with a 318. He had to replace it with a 78 Plymouth Volare station wagon (also a 318) when my little sister was born in 78. He loved that car and would drive it like Richard Petty.
Oh yes I would, the 61 is my most favorite of the Thunderbirds! The most forward thinking in design and grace rolled into one package. With the 390 and a 4 barrel is was a boulevard and a highway cruiser.
Buddy of mine is an aerospace engineer who wants to be the guy to build the flying car.
ReplyDeleteI thought you were a Dodge guy?
ReplyDeleteWould you fly something powered by a 318?
DeleteUh, that would be a 312. 318 was a Chrysler product.
