The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? I like BIG screens partly because my eyes aren't that great but because I like to watch videos. And videos aren't fun to watch on small screens. I have a 32" monitor and Mac mini. You can get used minis pretty reasonable and they don't use much electricity.
My next laptop is going to be from a pawn shop. Wipe the drive and install Linux Mint. I'm done with Windows and need to relearn Linux before changing my desktops.
The absolute best laptops I've ever had were Toshiba but unfortunately, they're not in the US market anymore. The worst, were HP. I had good luck with Compaq, before HP bought them and immediately infected them with whatever virus turns everything HP touches to liquid poo.
Read the one-star reviews. Sounds like a scam.
