One of the cats nabbed a bird.

The jungle, and all it's rules (or the lack of them) is closer than we think.

  1. People have no idea the MILLIONS of birds and small mammals killed yearly by wandering cats, most pets.

    1. That's a fact! The cats around here occasionally get a bird, but boy oh boy, they cut a swath through the small rodent population. We find a mouse on our doorstep almost every day.

  3. Only humans have the ability to reason and be ruled by emotional reaction to certain situations. Animals on the other hand kill mostly for food, although some Sociologists believe well fed by their keepers (cats don't have owners) domesticated cats do hunt birds, not for food but to sate their instinctive hunt reflex.

  4. I love the way they casually saunter through the garden with a bird in their mouth and that "Rambo" expression on their face

  5. Last time I saw my cat kill a bird, he sat down and ate that sucker. Barfed it up later, but still.
