  2. my second pc in early 90's was a PB with dot matrix printer, replaced a Tandy TX1000, used it into early 2000's (my daughter was using it on the morning of 9/11, home school, saw the first tower come down...)

  3. 1986, The age of dial-up BBS. was running a multi-line system on 8mHz Epson QX-10s., software I had to write from scratch... coded everything but the operating system, CPM. Still have the source code, it screams on these gHz machines like a scalded dog!

  4. My first introduction to computers was a $1600 PB with 75 mhz Pentium Processor, 850 MB hard drive, 8 mb RAM and a 13 in monitor. They said you could make money with Windows 95. Nope, never did.

  5. When I were a lad, you couldn't just go to the store and buy a computer.
We had to make our own computer with twigs and dirt.

    1. That reminds me of the Dilbert comic strip where Wally says, "Back in my day we didn't have any of this newfangled programing stuff. All we had was ones and zeros, and sometimes we didn't even have ones! I wrote an entire database using only zeros once."
Dilbert replies: "You had zeros? We had to use the letter o."
