Trip to little Crater Lake, near Susanville, to check out the aspens and do a little walking around in the mountain air



Rolling down to the shore.  There's a sweet little campground right there.  It would be a fine place to watch the first snow of the year come down.

    Looks like the crater lake off 44 opposite the rest stop then work your way up and around then down to the old caldera. Great for kayaking. Deep clear, blue water. A real gem up in these parts. They have an old hand crank water pump there for camping. Its really one of those "off the path" places that make a great drive.
