And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
That was my first thought too. The ridge on the receiver shows this is a Thompson-Center Encore. The Contender receiver has flat sides. There are enough differences that Contender barrels won't fit on an Encore and vice versa. Al_in_Ottawa
Hopefully the new TC company gets around to making Contenders, they are with the Encore's. They bought out Green Mountain Rifle Barrel Company recently, hard to get barrel blanks last few months, guessing they be pretty busy with new Encore barrels. Specifically for the weight I much prefer the Contender's, the Encore's look pretty darn rugged, take just about any cartridge.
