And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? French "Ironclad" Redoutable in dry dock, the first warship in the world to be built in steel, c. 1875.
Monkeys eh? Yeah because they didn’t fall for the “weapons of mass destruction” ruse to goad us into the Iraqi war ? The Resistance in France during WWII would like to have a chat with you, Schlomo.
Sad because that country cannot even defend itself from the slow motion muzzie invasion going on….
If as many French were actually in the Resistance as claimed to be afterwards, D Day would have been unnecessary. France is also the only nation whose soldiers and airmen killed Americans and were rewarded for it.
Typical French design of that era, gets even more extreme on their later pre-Dreadnaught battleships. See Drachinifel’s video on YouTube ’When Hotels Went to War’.
The cheese-eating "Frogs" of yesteryear were pretty awesome.

DeleteThat's interesting. The Monitor and the Merrimack in the US Civil War were made of wrought iron, not steel.
ReplyDeleteThe Monitor and Merrimack were wooden ships clad in wrought iron.
DeleteThat's a lot of tumblehome.
