  1. New-to-me brand. British and a good example of how national personality was once reflected in engineering - that was before homogenization deflated any spark of personality out of manufacturing. Armstrong, Rega, and Connoisseur are other examples of Britain's audio equipment from the past; Rega remains active but I'm uncertain of the others.

    2. The legs are called Hairpins, and if you walk past them bare footed in the dark you can wind up in the emergency room.

      They are unforgiving.

  4. Now all we have is cheap Chinese boom boxes the size of a can of beans, with audio quality that is frankly terrible, and the young, who have grown up with this crap, have no idea what good audio actually sounds like.
