And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Saw a lot of those in high school. Farmers! One of the few TOYS they had to hit the back roads and race around, then the same car would be at church Sunday morning.
Dads would let their sons put 'everything' on them, including hotter engines, so long as they 'got it home before midnight', Friday night was the 'kids night'. The sound of those engines reving up, near redline on those curvy, dangerous country roads, I'll never forget. Like Vanishing Point, unforgettable engine giving it's all.
The best of that era.
ReplyDeleteI owned versions of 2 of them (wish I still did).
