And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Maybe waiting for work. Looks like work boots and a working dog. When I'm in the farm shop office and I come out putting on my coat my old girl is suddenly up out of her bed and ready to go out and defend the farm from rabbits and squirrels. She doesn't often catch one but when she does she goes on parade to show off.
Mine can hear me getting my tobacco pouch open and loading a pipe. Sits and watches, then runs to the back door so I can watch her run squirrels around and up the trees.
had a 20 dollar pound hound dog named Jack. he was death to rabbits. quick as anything I ever saw run. he seem to just know when the rabbit was going to turn and cut them off. but with Jack it was different. to him, a rabbit was dinner. yup. he bring it back and eat it on the porch. by 14 or 15 he was not up to catching the like he used too. hips where about worn out. according to the Vet. lungs where great, clear heart was good too. just the rest of him was wearing out. lost most of his teeth by 15 and a half. do, he got cooked ground beef and rice for dinner. by 17 and a half, his legs started to go out under him. that I couldn't take his look at what was happening to him. made the last trip to the vet the next day. he had chopped up steak and carrots for his last meal. he more than earned that. it been over 24 years now and I still miss him. getting damn dusty here.
Waiting for the walk…

DeleteOur dog knows the sound of me opening the humidor and waits for me by the door for our Saturday morning cigar walk.
