    1. That's most likely a long exposure of the milky way taken with a special filter (hydrogen alpha maybe, which narrows in on red light from emissions from the gas clouds in the milky way). Separate exposure for the foreground. Then recombine the two images. Lots of processing going there. You can't see what this shows with the naked eye. But you can see the milky way from a dark location (away from the city). Just look up and it's hard to miss.
