  3. Wow! ESSE's have REALLY gone up in price. I'm glad I bought mine a decade or more ago. I have two, a 3" and a 6". They are great knives. The blades are hard, tough and hold an edge.

    1. I used my 6" ESSE to peel several elm shoots that I wanted to dry for use as replacement tool handles. I did this over several days, as there were a goodly number of pieces to peel.

      That knife actually got sharper during the peeling process and I had to change hands to keep the edge point in the center of the blade.

      I've used it for other jobs since and it never seems to get dull. I do hone it a bit after use, 3-4 strokes per side is all it takes.
