And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Wow! ESSE's have REALLY gone up in price. I'm glad I bought mine a decade or more ago. I have two, a 3" and a 6". They are great knives. The blades are hard, tough and hold an edge.
I used my 6" ESSE to peel several elm shoots that I wanted to dry for use as replacement tool handles. I did this over several days, as there were a goodly number of pieces to peel.
That knife actually got sharper during the peeling process and I had to change hands to keep the edge point in the center of the blade.
I've used it for other jobs since and it never seems to get dull. I do hone it a bit after use, 3-4 strokes per side is all it takes.
Really is a sweet blade.
ReplyDeletevery nice indeed but I'm more impressed with the construct of the sheath.
