    1. Agreed. Lots of those Tour de France wannabes on the rural mountain roads around my house. Local government promotes them for "revenue for the county". I hates them with all my hates.

  3. Everybody's got a different jersey. These must be the leaders because I can't see any domestiques. Looks like the guy on the right over-rode the left guy's front wheel and it collapsed. Looks like the whole peleton is going down, although the guys on the far right may be able to avoid it. These things happen.

    1. It’s a sprint. The tire is called a taco. The domestiques lead the sprint specialists to the front and drop off.

  4. Pencil thin light weight tires and even lighter weight wheels ... really dumb.

  5. That's Mark Cavendish, regarded as the greatest road sprinter of all time. He had 35 Tour de Fance stage wins in his career, breaking the record of Eddy Merckx.

He's a class act who never blamed his misfortunes or short comings on others. A truly great athlete.

  6. A few tenths of a second before impact, in which he regrets not racing motorcycles and the leathers he'd be wearing. Road rash comin' up.
