The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? I've never understood why people think it's a good idea to make houses out of fuel (wood), fill them with dry kindling (furniture), and then light fires inside them.
To be fair, I do have an open fire, but at least my house is made of reinforced concrete with a concrete tile roof. The roof frame is wood, though.
