  2. I had been inside the two at MCAS Tustin. Hangers #1 and #2. Massive is an understatement. Fantastic edifice, brilliant construction.

  3. If I have it correct, that is a Harrier that is taking off vertically... outside of the hanger.

    1. They usually are when transitioning from a vertical to a forward horizontal flight profile.

    2. True, however, as they transition to horizontal forward movement the aircraft moves forward as well. The Harrier is too close to the hanger if it launched vertically from in front of the doors.

  6. Doesn't look like Tustin, the doors are different structurally - but it looks like a blimp hanger for sure.

  7. Zeppelin Hangar in Rio de Janeiro, built when Lufthansa had a Berlin to Brazil flight. The Brazilian Air Force never flew Harriers, perhaps this is a sales demonstration aircraft?
