And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Last weekend I had an osprey drop a pretty good sized striped mullet right next to me on the pool deck as I was sitting in a chair enjoying a cold one. He was pissed because he lost dinner for the fam, I was because I spit out beer.
At least he didn’t have to go for a swim! I’ve seen eagles by the hatchery in Valdez Alaska grab a salmon too big to lift, they can’t let go until they are on land so they swim to the sandbar and sit there trying to dry out while the other eagles eat their fish!
Our resident Ospreys have a couple pound flounder this morning & are busy feeding their babies.
