  1. Take the guard off and use 7" discs.
    Did that just yesterday in dismantling an old grill.

  2. I dont want to be a Nancy, but that is a bad idea. the 7” disc is rated for 8500 rpm, the 4 1/2 grinder spins at 11,000rpm. i read where a one ounce chunk of exploding grinder wheel at 11k rpm has the impact of a 22lr bullet.
    my neighbor found out the hard way, with a trip to the hospital

  3. I have one of these on my welding table and it does a good job. No need for a 7" disc.

    1. Depending on what you're cutting, the 4 and 5 inch discs wear down pretty fast, so the extra mileage with the 7's makes it worthwhile. Less down time changing discs out.
