And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The Corbridge Hoard A hoard of 160 gold aureus coins (circa AD 160) in a bronze jug, with two bronze coins in the neck of the jug to disguise the worth of contents. Discovered below the floor of a roman house in Corbridge, Northumberland in 1911.
All finds over a certain amount must be handed over as 'Treasure Trove.' This is as small as 4 items I think. However, usually an agreement is reached between finder and govt, and usually they benefit. Might have been different in 1911.
Cleaned up well, but whose head are thereupon?
ReplyDeleteDid you have to hand it over to the government?
