For now. Things could be changing in Californistan with everyone productive leaving and the Democrats in sole political control.

  1. When you look at it on a per capita basis, the comparison isn’t even close. California, with 39 million people, generates roughly the same GDP as Germany, which has a population of around 85 million—more than double.

What drives California’s status as an economic superpower? Is it Democratic leadership, immigration, the water, or something else? Whatever the reason, it’s a trend that began in the 1950s and shows no signs of slowing down.

In my opinion the flexibility of remote works is a bigger threat to California's status as an economic powerhouse than democrat/republican control. Why pay California costs if you can work from anywhere in the world? At the same time, be careful what you wish for. Jobs moving out of California doesn't mean that they will stay in the US.

  3. Given how badly damaged Germanies economy by the Nord stream gas line sabotage and how much in the news loss of GDP and plant closures if Germany is that wealthy today. Energy costs hurt them BAD.

Same question about what year the California GDP was noted. Bad government and Ever Higher Energy costs have driven a lot of business out of California.

    1. You're blaming it on the gas line sabotage? They would not need that gas if they were not ijiots. Trump warned them: don't get hooked on Russia.

  4. Don't be surprised if Kalifornia will be split in West Kalifornia and East California within the next ten years.

    1. For a group that prides itself in defending the constitution it is remarkable how little about it people know.
Article IV: "...New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States..."

Are you arguing for a Virginia - West Virginia do over?

    2. You conveniently left off the las part of that:

. . . “Without the consent of the legislatures of the states concerned as well as of the Congress.”

    3. And there's the rub with the creation of the State of Jefferson. It can't be done without the approval of the Democrat controlled state legislature of California. That would mean the urban areas cutting themselves off from their source of wonderful, abundant water. I'll never happen.

  7. Kalifornia is in a state of decline, businesses that generate a lot of that GDP are leaving the state for greener pastures, taking all that GDP with them....GDP number drop rapidly in the next few years...however, they could get lucky and elect someone like Milei????
