And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I've seen a number of people take an unplanned ride of a hog before but they didn't last long until they got dumped. Amazing how a seven hundred pound sow can move. Makes a bull look like an amateur.
By the time I started raising hogs for food, I was 65, so, fuck that! Though if I was in my 20's, I totally would have done that. Hell, when I was 10, visiting shirt tail relatives in New Mexico, I did the Stoney Burk with a milk calf that launched me head first into the corral fence. Off to Hope, N. M. (50 mi.) for a horse doctor to stitch me up...on a Sunday. Well, I AM a guy...so there's that.
