    1. Once knew a guy that would finish off a sit-down lunch with a dish of ice cream and a beer.

    2. Could that "beer" be a fruit drink like apple cider?

  2. Suck down 8 brews first, then tear into that pie.
BTW, can I get a double decker version of that pie?

  3. Begs the question; what does one do with the remaining 30-slices of pie? Anyway you cut it, by the slice or whole pie, gets pricey.

    1. That's how the baker makes money, break up the whole pies into "sample" packs. I'd be willing to pay a bit more for one of them. At our local farmers market, I pay $15 for a really good peach - raspberry crips pie. It's good for four servings.

    2. Walmart does essentially the same thing with their bakery cakes. They cut a bunch of cakes into quarters and package four different flavors in the standard packaging.
Seems to be pretty popular. That pile of cakes seems to always be the lowest.

  7. In Hamburg, Germany, I went to a pub that had a bakery inside.
Or was it a bakery that had a pub inside ?
Either way, there are things that don't go together well.

    1. When I was in Germany I went to a police station that had a (private) bar inside, in the basement. I arrived perfectly sober and they took me home in a “cucumber” (patrol car) distinctly not sober. Best (only) cop/alcohol interaction I ever had.

  8. Chocolate goes well with beer, there should be a slice of chocolate cream pie in there.
