And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Nice. I wonder how many people you have to hire to crew it?
Retired Navy E-6 with five others... We can do this indefinitely if everyone has tricare and small pension. Been there, done that. (Say hello to LaDonna, on Happy Valley Road in Anderson!)
I suspect its like really exotic cars and WW2 aeroplanes, buying them is affordable for many but the maintenance is the big cost that sorts the rich from the really rich. Looking at that varnish makes me think she would need bucket loads of attention and money to remain pristine. She sure is beautiful though.
About $1.5MM/year, minimum. Capt. 1st Mate, navigator, cook & asst., mechanic and 9-10 crew to sail & maintenance.

ReplyDeleteReal man needs no crew
ReplyDeleteSkipper, Gilligan, Mary Anne, Ginger…that oughta cover it
ReplyDeleteThat's no Minnow.
DeleteYears ago we rented a 72 foot former racing schooner out of Sausalito. With the upgraded servos they could sail it with 2 people.
ReplyDeleteWe just enjoyed the journey and ate and drank the day away...
