Nice. I wonder how many people you have to hire to crew it?

  1. About $1.5MM/year, minimum. Capt. 1st Mate, navigator, cook & asst., mechanic and 9-10 crew to sail & maintenance.

  2. Retired Navy E-6 with five others... We can do this indefinitely if everyone has tricare and small pension. Been there, done that. (Say hello to LaDonna, on Happy Valley Road in Anderson!)

  5. Years ago we rented a 72 foot former racing schooner out of Sausalito. With the upgraded servos they could sail it with 2 people.

We just enjoyed the journey and ate and drank the day away...

  6. I suspect its like really exotic cars and WW2 aeroplanes, buying them is affordable for many but the maintenance is the big cost that sorts the rich from the really rich.
Looking at that varnish makes me think she would need bucket loads of attention and money to remain pristine. She sure is beautiful though.
