  1. Who the hell buys these things? Did your fridge not come w/ the little tray/compartment?

    1. I did. It comes in very handy when your demand for ice is exceeding your supply, as mine occasionally does - think 'party'. It's a good little gadget.

  3. Turned off the one in the freezer/fridge. Rarely used it and when we did the ice tasted like, well, freezer.

    1. I'm with Ghosty. Our waterline is disconnected to the ice maker. We drink room temp. water and never an alcoholic drink. No need for "stinky" ice.

  4. These tabletop ice makers are great if you like ice! Until I started using one I figured it was a gimmick, it's not.

Imagine, Georgia in the summertime, out back under the shade with a table top ice maker, a gallon jug of tap water (to keep the ice maker full) and all the ice a person could want.
Mine is stored in the RV, it only comes out these days when we're having a get-together & it's making ice out back where all the people are... the freezer in the house is still doing it's thing.
    Shop around for price....

    1. These are not solid chunks of ice like you get from the home freezer, metal rods dip into the pool of water and ice forms around them, then it's dropped into the hopper & you scoop it out. They are hollow so they are much easier on the teeth.
Not as massive as from the freezer but big enough and there are a lot of them!

  6. Got 1at home and at work. co-worker got another for work. We have a choice between big ice cubes and crushed ice.

To keep all of them running good and no shitty tasting ice, we used bottled water. No build up of calcium deposits.
