And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I agree with the previous commenters. Jessica Chastain is a beautiful woman and an accomplished actress. There are some actors who have become quite vocal about their politics, and despite their obvious talents as actors, that has made them unwatchable for me (I'm thinking Robert DeNiro here). She isn't quite there yet for me, but she's very close.
Even though we may completely agree, I don't really want to hear about politics from my dry cleaner or the pharmacist. I feel the same about the political views of any sports or entertainment celebrity.
Who would you rather hear from? Your friends or family?
Do any of them work as dry cleaners or pharmacists? Its short sighted to cut of the views of others. I don't mean those jerks who by their boorish attitude and crass words make themselves untenable.

When I go to a restaurant, the dry cleaners, my pharmacist, a movie, a sporting event, or any other place in my daily life, I am interested in the professional services that they offer. These people certainly have their political views, and maybe we'd agree or maybe not, but I am only interested in the reason that brought me to them....their professional services.
I am of Michael Jordan's "Republicans buy sneakers too" school. If you're going to be in the public sphere in some regard, it is better to keep your politics as private as possible. Half of your listeners won't want to hear it.
I have to say that I've worked in the Mid East in the defense business and that movie "Zero Dark Thirty" captured a certain feel that was very realistic.
I always thought she was gorgeous and has a fine body too. But an absolute nasty lieberal in real life.
ReplyDeleteNot knowing her politics, she is a good example of when a woman smiles, the whole room lights up.
ReplyDeleteShe is an actress, not a bashful bone in her body. Unless someone puts one in.

Totally agree, Rick. Unfortunately boorish, condescending personal comments seem all too common these days.

As always, YMMV.
