The Space Shuttle Atlantis left space for the final time on July 21, 2011, descending to a smooth landing at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This astronaut photograph, taken from the vantage of the International Space Station, shows the streak of an ionized plasma plume created by the shuttle’s descent through the atmosphere.
Looks more like a launch. Way too steep for a descent/re-entry. IMHAO
ReplyDeleteSo you're an aeronautical engineer? Some experience with space flight?
DeleteCan't you just enjoy this blog?
DeleteNot an aeronautical engineer much less having a clue what an “ionized plasma plume” is. I’ll accept the flic as a space version of an aircraft turning tight with condensation trails coming off the wing tips. “Aircraft porn” to some.
DeleteThe angle of attack must be steep or else you would skip like a stone on a lake trying to re-enter the atmosphere.
ReplyDeletekinda what i thunk i was looking at.
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought it was a scratch on the window...
