    8 steaks = $219.99 LOL ($27 each)

Oh yeah, they include a can of rub, so there's that.

    The rub alone costs $12.

  5. This brand of beef is sold at Bass Pro and Cabelas, which tells me they're a big producer. And there is no point of origin labeling requirement, so their beef could come from anywhere, foreign or domestic, despite the Nebraska brand name.

If we didn't raise our own beef I'd be on-line finding a reputable rancher that finishes and processes their own critters. There are lots of them around, and their prices are competitive. Most have made videos of their operations, and they seem to be very good folks. The only down side is that they may not have the cuts you're looking for when you want them but when you've got a freezer, it just means you'll have to plan your purchase ahead of time.

    1. Not all of them are good. I fell for that a couple years ago. Horribly, horribly processed. Bones, fat, and gristle where there shouldn't have been any. Took a couple hours to fix it up before freezing.

  6. I don't know where you-all live but in Eastern Colorado there are many local beef ranchers who sell their meat directly to the public. It is very often grass-fed (no grains) and organic. You can order your cuts including thickness and weight ahead of time.

  7. Not very well marbled but then I’m spoiled. I’ve been eating an Angus Waygu crossbred steer my daughter and son in law raised for me.
