And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

It'd be interesting to compare an original Whopper from there to a current version.
Sometimes in the 1990s was last time I ate anything from BK. A burger which was so terrible I tossed it after one bite. About an hour later I vomited til my stomach ran dry.
the old ones from the 70s and before were great, mickie d's plain hamburgers and fish sandwiches would melt in your mouth- no more, gone are those days.
I always like the "Whaler" back in the old days. Haven't been to one of the burger joints in years but I know that they couldn't get anything near what those old Whalers were in the 60's-70's for under $20 today.
Don't know about BK, but in the late 70s a Big Mac was less than a dollar and at least 40# larger than it is now. And the one now looks like crap too, much less tastes like it. I used to love getting a filet o fish with an extra fish patty. Now you could not pay me to eat anything at McDonalds.
Like 99% of everything today, the original is 1,000 x better than today's.

ReplyDeleteWent to a BK along I-5 in Mt Shasta a decade ago. Yech. Haven't been to a BK since.
ReplyDeleteThe two cant be compared. One was real food that nourished the body poorly at best. The other is devoid of nutrition.

DeleteI still on occasion get my BK usual- dbl whopper w/ch, lrg fries x2 due to small portion, a fish sandwich and coke.
ReplyDeleteBack when, it actually did take two hands to handle a Whopper. Tasted good too.
