For my half acre of oak and brush, this looks useful

  1. Can't comment on that one. I have a Ryobi electric chainsaw which works well (it's bigger than that one), but it leaks oil like a sieve. PITA honestly.

  2. They are ok for light use when they are new. After a short time real wood cutting requires many many batteries. If you can handle it get your old saw running again. Its better than what can be bought today.

  3. I like that they are selling it set up for a popular brand battery. If I wanted/needed one I'd look for one that uses the batteries I already have.

On a side note I have a wired 14" chainsaw from Harbor Freight that does the infrequent chain saw job I need done. It works well if I keep it sharp and go slow, being electric I don't need to keep oil/gas mix around.
