Be the American the Japanese think you are

The subtitles are actually Mandarin, for whatever that means.

  1. Well, maybe. The similarity of old Japanese and Mandarin characters is very high, and Mandarin 'speakers' (readers) can generally read Japanese character fairly readily. Unless this was an opinion from a native born Japanese, I question the conclusion.

    1. To my understanding (not a Japanese speaker) Japanese has four alphabets, one of which is the same characters used for Chinese.
Hiragana, phonetic, each character is a syllable, for Japanese words
Katekana, phonetic, each character is a syllable, for foreign words
Chinese characters, pictographic, not sure how it's properly used
Romaji, the Roman alphabet, each letter is a sound, pretty much, often used for English words.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
      Also, the video is awesome!
