And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Looking pretty good for the 60's. Especially the chrome Christmas tree.
You said it. We didn't have the fancy floor. We didn't have the fancy drapes. But we did have that exact console. TV stayed off until after dinner and after homework. Then only until 1900 bedtime.
Watched Ed Sullivan Beatles episode lying on the floor in front of one of those with a friend. Comments from the adults playing cards in the dining room was Oh, that's awful. They'll never last! Bubbarust
