Beautiful Brown Trout

  1. The problem with Brown's is that it takes two or three for a decent breakfast with grits and eggs. I like mine pan seared with dill and lemon. In Western NC a yellow and black fly in the heat of the summer is the ticket.

  2. Don’t know why the difference in size, but I used to pull 18” brown trout out of the lower Provo river in Utah. That was 50 years ago. Probably no way to do that now. In April and early May, they would strike all day long on earthworms. We’d track whatever fly was hatching starting in June through August and match that with dry flies and streamers. We could generally take home our daily limit, if we were serious that day. More often, we’d get one nice one each and then head home. Ah, what memories…
