And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
PLEASE take a CLOSER LOOK at the detail on the S&W or 'OTHER' PISTOL in her hands & compare the 2 CAP PISTOLS in her belt!!!!! The CAP pistols have a 1/2 cylinder look and the grips are plastic! The pistols in her hands have REAL cylinders and full hammers AND no hinge at the barrel!! 2 cap pistols AND 2 REAL .38s/.45s!!! A bonus feature to ID the real pistols are the screwheads in line with the hammers.
The pistols with full cylinders were likely Mattel "Shootin Shell 45s," which employed "Greenie Stick'em Caps" in individual cartridges, loaded like a Colt. They also sold a Derringer 2-shot using the same sort of (smaller) shells.
I had a snub nose .38 that had "cartridges" with gray plastic snap-in bullets and I put the Greenie stick-em caps on the back. Pull the trigger, cylinder rotated, cartridge fired with a BANG, gray bullet hit what was aimed at about 10 feet away. Pretty cool.
Us boys got multiple guns EVERY year for Christmas and my favorite was the 50 Fanner. Remember the suckercup dart guns? Put the dart in the gun, lick the sucker, shoot it at Mom's picture window in the dining room. Get that wet wash rag across your bare back. YOWTCH!
Now a days we'd all go to jail for how we lived back then.
