And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My Dad was a shoe shine boy in Manhattan during the Depression. When Uncle Sam blew the bugle and he went off to fight the Japs my Uncle Al got his shoe shine kit. Dad came back and went to college on the GI bill and Unc's kept the kit. He still has it and is in his will as to who of his nephews will inherit it. I'm hoping as the brushes are badger hair not horse. Puts a shine on like nothing else, the only thing better is beaver fur.

I have a 60 year old shoe shined kit that has two horse hair brushes. One for brown/cordovan and the other for black.
