These rubber overshoes were cast in the form of bare feet, and were attached to the wearer’s actual shoes with tying tapes. The agent would wear them to hopefully fool the Japanese into thinking that only native peoples, rather than soldiers, had travelled in the area.
Sneaky bastards... they were. But tell me, who was it fooling the Japanese with these things?
