And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The nurse was probably thinking Liability Issues with the Poor little (HA) Angel's parents. So the nurse chose the safe route and did nothing until Mommy and or daddy gets there.
All first aid training insists that impaled objects remain in place until evaluated by medical professionals. In this case, it's obvious that the skull is not penetrated. Yes, scalp wounds bleed like nothing else, but still, I'm with the band-aid and direct pressure school. YMMV.
