And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The bed and the sitting stool in the fire tower near here had insulators on the feet. Never was in one during a lightening bust but, it was interesting in the high winds.
It looks like the porch overhangs are on hinges and can be lowered over the windows, so maybe cold weather might be a little more tolerable. Or maybe they just close it up and shut it down for winter.
Notice the lightning rod and wire connected to chimney? I wouldn't want to be inside during a strike.
