And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I would try this with the Challenger, but I guess I'd need front wheel drive
The company I worked for years ago used a nationwide professional driving school to sharpen employees skills. We drove standard Ford & Chevy sedans. The training was so good even the women were able to parallel park using only 2 turning maneuvers and winding up inches from the curb with only 6 inch clearance in front and in the rear.
That's not a bad idea for when you encounter a driver with a manual transmission who isn't adept at restarting from a stop. Even if you NEVER get stuck behind a stalled car or any other reason for having the need to have distance between you, if you get accustomed to rolling right up to the bumper in front you may end up with a fender bender as they roll back.
Even the best of drivers might slip back slightly on extreme grades and it always pisses me off that morons decide to park a half inch off my rear bumper at stoplights on very steep grades. I am good enough to not ever have rolled into anyone, but why do this?

ReplyDeleteSomebody forward this to Bogsidebynnys wife. Talk about digging a hole for yourself.
ReplyDeleteThanks buddy :)
DeleteIf you had a front brake lockout for drag racing, you could do this in reverse if you had an open differential.
ReplyDeleteI've had three combat driving courses in my life. It would be fun to take your ground rocket out and demonstrated my accumulated experience.... ;^)
ReplyDeleteFirst rule of traffic is to avoid it of course. Second rule is to always leave room between your front bumper and the vehicle in front of you.

That particular manuever works because that's a front wheel drive vehicle.....
ReplyDeleteThe Challenger uses a different technique. Just leave it in first and allow torque to "persuade" the car in front to slide forward enough to get out.
