And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I noticed a lot of loaded apple trees in McCloud yesterday - plenty of Winter chill to set a good crop. Made me think of cider.
2 weeks from yesterday, I'll have somewhere near 50gal of it to freeze and give away. Oh, and about 130lbs of sauerkraut as well. Family thing I've tried to keep going. http://ciderkraut.com/photographs/ This is the 4th year it's happened, and until either the equipment breaks or I do, we'll continue to do it.
I read a piece not too long ago about apple cider, seems it's hard cider in the rest of the world. It was in the US too until prohibition came along, alcohol free cider got the producers thru the experiment and now it's the 'normal' here in the US.
