And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

This Consolidated B-24D Liberator, nicknamed “Ripper the 1st”, nosed over while landing after returning from a raid on Rome, Italy. The B-24 belonged to 515th Bombardment Squadron, 376th Bombardment Group of Ninth Air Force.
That tow is leaving a mark on the tarmac. Ya think they would have a jury-rigged wheeled sled to at least minimize any more damage to the nose of the Liberator.
One of the last B-24D models is at the USAF museum("Strawberry Bitch"). There is a B-24J that fly's around America selling joy rides. I have been up close to both and noted that the nose gear in the "J" was completely different from the "D".---Ray
