And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

United States President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump host French President Emmanuel Macron and Lady Brigitte Macron for dinner at George Washington’s historic home.
It is claimed that Melania ran the show setting this up. If so, well done!
Check out this incredible spread and menu. A bit more upscale than I'm used to!
i received my invitation late in the day and had to beg off as i had prior commitments which would have conflicted the state dinner. I reminded DJT that it was agreed by both of us not to divulge the cause of this as it would upset delicate negotiations ongoing the congo. but then he tweeted his lawyer.....
Remember, don't use email or it creates a record that can be used against you later. Best of luck in those Congo negotiations. I hear Col. Kabila is a tough nut.
That’s right across the river from where I spent my ‘formative years’. Many visits to Mt Vernon over the years, to the point that I can picture that room and it’s setting like I was there. :-) I like that the POTUS is proud enough of our history to use a historic venue like this. It’s been too long since we had a President that is this American.
I love the way the Trump White House, displays the beauty of the White House. I also appreciate thay they're not partying their butts off the way the Obamas did. It's my understanding that the Obamas spent more on state dinners than any other president.
I waited for my invitation but it never came.
